Explore BNRC’s Clam River in Sandisfield!   Travel logging roads to take in hemlocks and pines through the forest before venturing off-trail to the Clam River. Rain or shine.

Distance: 3-3.5 miles

Terrain: 75% on old logging roads, 25% bushwhacking with wet/slippery footing!

Pace/Time: Easy, about 3 hours

Getting there: From Great Barrington take Route 23 east to Monterey, followed by a right onto Route 57. Remain on Route 57 to Sandisfield.  From Route 57, take a left onto Hammertown Road to the pull-off at the end of road-maintenance on the left.
