Great Pine Farm family gives again
The family that gave the land for Simon's Rock College has made a second momentous gift, placing the 250-acre Great Pine Farm under a conservation restriction last December. Go to article

Tim Crane of Windsor elected to board
At its annual meeting in September, the Resources Council's Board of Corporators elected Tim Crane to fill an unexpired term on the Board of Directors left by the retirement of Neil Orenstein from the board. Go to article

Williamstown trust buys 55-acre Sheep Hill farm
In November, the Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation completed a seven-year project with the purchase of the 55-acre Rosenburg farm, a former dairy farm with steep and dramatic fields that provides a scenic gateway into Williamstown. Go to article

Egremont trust's tree program garners Mount Vernon tulip poplar
The Egremont Land Trust was one of twelve citizen groups and municipalities honored recently during Millenium Green Recognition Ceremonies held in Belmont, with one of the awards consisting of a tulip poplar descended from a tree planted by George Washington. Go to article

Schwarz protects New Marlborough's Flying Cloud
Writing another chapter in what appears to be a decades-long love affair with the charming New Marlborough property known as Flying Cloud, owner David Schwarz protected aproximately half of the property in December by donating a conservation restriction to the Resources Council. Go to article

Council buys APR on Palmer's Tyringham Valley farm
On February 5, the Berkshire Natural Resources Council purchased an Agricultural Preservation Restriction on a 153-acre farm in Tyringham owned by Gilder Palmer. Go to article

Dalton farm protected with Council's help
Following an ususually lengthy negotiation, the state Department of Food and Agriculture purchased an agricultural preservation restriction on Rita Musante's 136-acre farm in Dalton last spring. Go to article

Lanesboro APRs secure a thriving agricultural district

Bill filed with aim of ensuring affordable APR land
