How many times have you driven down Lenox Road in West Stockbridge completely unaware that Stevens Glen awaited below, open for the publics enjoyment? Or perhaps like most of the Berkshires you still haven't seen the small sign, S. Glen, marking the trailhead . This hidden gem has long surprised first time visitors with its wonder and obscurity, but that is about to change. Stevens Glen, like many of BNRC's preserves, is getting a makeover. As part of BNRC's long term goals for improving access on our preserves, new signage and kiosks are being built to make the preserves more welcoming to visitors. The first step in the makeover of Stevens Glen was kicked off by Eagle Scout Will Pinkston from Housatonic. Will is entering his sophomore year of high school and approached BNRC eager to contribute to our mission. Will built the kiosk, cleared a site and had volunteers help him install it at the entrance to the trail. All BNRC had to do was say thank you! And so we do, thank you Will for helping us make Stevens Glen more accessible to people of Berkshire County. Will also built a kiosk for the Basin Pond Trail in Lee, which is currently under construction.
