Berkshire Natural Resources Council is a land conservation and environmental advocacy group working throughout the Berkshires in Massachusetts to preserve threatened lands. The Council places special emphasis on protecting Berkshire's "working landscape" - the great farms, forests, streams and mountains which define our region's distinct character and provide multiple economic, recreational and scenic benefits to the public. Since its founding in 1967, the Resources Council has worked closely with hundreds of Berkshire landowners to help them meet their preservation and planning goals. The Council today owns and manages 6,191 acres and protects an additional 7,190 acres through the use of conservation restrictions.
